Ultrasonic Testing: Welds

THEORY:

40 general multiple-choice questions. Duration: 1 hour
20 subject-specific multiple-choice questions. Duration: 45 minutes

PRACTICAL:

General practical including calibration of test equipment and testing of one plate for inclusions and laminations
Testing of three samples
Reporting results
Preparing a detailed NDT instruction suitable for a Level 1 candidate to follow

NB: Failure to detect and report a reportable discontinuity in any one sample will result in failure of this part of the examination

Duration: 6 hours

Ultrasonic Testing: Wrought Products

THEORY:

40 general multiple-choice questions. Duration: 1 hour
20 subject-specific multiple-choice questions. Duration: 45 minutes

Radiographic Testing: Welds

THEORY:

The total minimum time allowed for the practical exam is calculated by adding three hours per sample, two hours for drafting the NDT instruction and six hours for radiographic interpretation
