Overview
Access conditions

A pass in the SAIW Level 1 welding inspector examinations and 90% minimum attendance at SAIW Level 2 course

Duration of examinations

Examinations run over 2 days

Content

Day1 A closed book examination comprising of essay and multiple choice questions covering the whole syllabus.
  Duration: 3 hours
  An open book examination comprising of essay type questions testing the candidate’s ability to search for information in his course notes and code books.
  Duration: 3 hours
Day2 A practical examination set to test the candidate’s ability to understand NDT inspection methods including reports of Liquid Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, Ultrasonic Testing and Radiographic Testing and checking of WPSs and PQRs against code requirements
  Duration: 5 hours

Minimum Pass Mark

60% in all examinations
